Is this a private school?
No, we are funded by Alberta Education. Tuition is only paid for those attending Junior Kindergarten or if there is an arrangement made with a PUF provider for those with complex needs.
Is the kindergarten affiliated with the church?
No, but we are pleased to share their wonderful space.
Can my child go on to any grade one program?
Yes, your child will be totally prepared both academically and socially for any Grade One program in the city. We have had our past students successfully transition into Public, Separate, Charter, Private, TLC, and Immersion (French/Spanish) schools.
What is the history of the Glamorgan Community Kindergarten?
In 1959, a group of parents in Glamorgan formed an educational program to meet the needs of their children, themselves and their community. The South Richmond / Glamorgan Community Kindergarten was formed and has evolved into the Glamorgan Community Kindergarten Society. In 1973, the program moved from the Glamorgan Community Centre to the Glamorgan School. In 2009, the Glamorgan Community Kindergarten moved to the Glamorgan Church where we have enjoyed a bright and cheerful classroom in a very warm and welcoming environment.
Incorporated as a society in 1974, when Alberta Education began funding kindergarten programs, our kindergarten continues to be operated by parents for children who will be 5 years of age on or before December 31st of each school year.
The Glamorgan Community Kindergarten enjoys an excellent reputation in the community as well as in surrounding communities and throughout the city.
